NOW HIRING: Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager — is it you?

PORTAL A is an award-winning digital content company that creates breakthrough entertainment with the most influential brands, platforms, and talent in the world.

We partner with global brands like YouTube, Google, Lenovo, Amazon, and Clorox and a new generation of talent to make content that rises above the noise. We pride ourselves in taking on huge challenges – from internet culture-defining projects to feature documentaries – and our in-house team of creatives, strategists, talent leads, producers, and project managers push one other to produce our best work with each new project.

Our team is looking to hire a Project Manager who will manage client communications for brand campaigns, working closely with our talent, production, creative, and strategy teams to bring the work to life.

Duties & Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to push our projects forward, becoming the backbone of the client relationship and collaboration across the wider team:

  • You manage complex projects start-to-finish, from initial creative development through production, post-production, and launch.
  • You develop and manage project timelines, and ensure timely approvals and feedback from external partners.
  • You proactively manage the program and the team, giving constructive direction to those working with you.
  • You make confident project decisions and can spot opportunities for growth.
  • You facilitate the flow of information between external partners and Portal A’s internal team of producers, creatives, and strategists to ensure the right people get the right information on time.
  • You collaborate with the team to make sure each project is tailored to the brand and brief.
  • You think big, take risks and push boundaries because you understand that this will lead to great work.

Experience & Capabilities

The right individual will have 3+ years of experience managing content across a variety of situations, and have:

  • Innate organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong understanding of tone, and the ability to adapt communications across detailed client emails, thoughtful meeting notes, and clear Slack updates.
  • Ability to bring clarity to the complex, connecting the dots and organizing information in a clear, concise way.
  • Expertise in creative development and production.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and proactively solve issues, keeping up the momentum of the work and positive team dynamics.
  • Ability to balance the big picture with day-to-day project delivery detail, connecting client needs and internal resources.
  • Ability to present work and facilitate discussions in meetings.
  • A passion to uphold the quality of our work at all phases of a project.

Ideal Characteristics

  • Active and experienced in internet culture and digital entertainment, personally and/or professionally
  • Open to new ways of working and collaborating — this is not the right job for a box ticker
  • A team-player, open and receptive to the contributions of those around them
  • A proactive communicator that is excited to dive into new challenges and take initiative
  • Challenging the status quo, looking for new ways to push work forward, in line with the brief
  • Active contributions to strategic and creative conversations, strongly influencing process as well as content
  • Never satisfied, and always eager to find ways to improve
